Upcoming Events

 

1) Free Intramural Camp – July 21st – 24th

This preseason camp is open to all members of the club that signed up for the U-8 – U-14 fall 2008 intramural program.  This basic skills camp will be staffed by SSA travel coaches and will be held every evening Monday through Thursday from 6:00-8:00 PM at Southampton Estates Fields (Street Road next to the Dairy Queen).  Players are expected to bring their own ball and plenty of water.  They must also wear shin guards and soccer shoes.  While there is no fee, parents are expected to sign their children up for the camp at www.southamptonsoccer.org and go to the Registration option, so we can plan accordingly.

 

2) Preseason Travel Camp – July 28th – August 1st

This camp is open to all U-8 – U23 Travel players and will be held every evening Monday – Friday from 6:00 – 8:30 PM at Southampton Estates Fields.  The camp will be organized into 2 divisions: U8 – U13 players will be taught individual and small group basic skills, and U14 – U23 players will concentrate on physical fitness in preparation for their upcoming high school, college and travel soccer seasons.  The camp will be staffed by paid trainers (which includes current and past high and college coaches and players) and will feature guest speakers on special topics such as nutrition and the psychology of the sport.  The fee for this camp is $75 and is payable online at www.southamptonsoccer.org via the Registration option on the navigation menu.

 

3) Southampton College All-Stars and U-6 Minicamp

Southampton Soccer Association is sponsoring a group of elite female athletes in their pursuit of a PA State Cup Title.  This group of U-20’s will be playing their first cup game against perennial powerhouse FC Bucks on Sunday July 13th at 2:00 PM at Southampton Estates Fields.  Numerous players on the Southampton team will be offering a free skills clinic for any Southampton club members enrolled in the U-6 (Sprites) program for the upcoming fall season.  The clinic will begin at 12:15 PM and last approximately 45 minutes.  Players are expected to bring their own soccer ball and plenty of water.   

 

4) Southampton Soccer Opening Day Celebration!

Southampton Soccer will be hosting its 2nd annual Opening Day Celebration on Friday, September 5th! Last year we had an incredible turnout and expect even more this year, so please mark your calendars and don’t miss out on this year’s event. More information is forthcoming – so please keep checking the website for details!

 

5) Goal-Keep Summer Training

GREAT NEWS! We were able to secure a goal-keeper trainer for the summer. Sarah Buonomo, who is now starring at Boston College will be at the Dairy Queen Fields from 6-8 every Wednesday evening. She will run 2 sessions -- from 6-7 for U-11 and below and from 7-8 for U-12 and up. 

We are very fortunate to have Sarah...She actually led the nation in goals this year (see link for her bio)...Special thanks to Freddie Escobar for bringing her on board.

All interested goal-keepers (and players interested in learning goal-keeping) are invited. Please bring your own ball and of course plenty of water...Also please arrive 15 minutes before the start of the session.
